How we evaluate software
Where the facts come from
Pricing, features, integrations and company details are taken from the vendor's own website, documentation, pricing page, changelog or API, in that order of trust. Each fact records its source, a confidence level and the date it was last checked. When we cannot verify something we say so; we never guess, and we never copy facts, descriptions or rankings from other directories.
How often we re-check
Prices go out of date faster than descriptions. We re-verify pricing within 30 days, features and integrations within 60, and company details within 90. Every product page shows when it was last verified.
How we score software
The editorial score out of ten summarises our assessment against explicit criteria such as ease of use, feature depth, value and support. Scores, strengths, trade-offs and verdicts are written by our team. Vendors cannot pay for a score, and affiliate relationships never change an assessment.
How the finder matches
Each answer switches on editorial rules that require, exclude or favour a verified fact. A product that fails a requirement is ruled out and we show which requirement it failed. Editorial score and popularity only break ties between products that satisfy the same requirements. No answer is scored by a model, and nothing about your answers is stored against you.
How the shortlist works
Ticking a product keeps it in a small first-party cookie on your device, up to four at a time, so you can compare across pages. Only product identifiers are stored, nothing about you, and clearing the shortlist removes the cookie.
How trending works
Trending is computed from behaviour on this site: profile views, search impressions, comparison and alternative views, outbound visits, and launch recency. Each signal is dampened and normalised so no single one dominates. Rankings are snapshots with a stated window, and movement is only shown when a previous snapshot exists. There are no votes and no purchased placements.
Source priority
In order: official API or feed, official website, official documentation, official pricing page, official changelog, affiliate-network data, manually verified data, and our own behavioural data, which is used for trending only and never for facts. A less trusted source never silently overwrites a more trusted one; disagreements are reviewed by a person.
Affiliate disclosure
Some "Visit vendor" links are tracked affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Those links are marked as sponsored, resolved on our server, and never influence which products appear, how they are scored, or how they are ranked. We do not publish deals, coupons or offers.
No user reviews, no votes
TechBigs does not host user reviews, comments or upvotes. New software, launches and collections are editorial and data-driven, not popularity contests.
